About

My love of the outdoors started with my father and our annual camping trips to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. My appreciation of nature continued throughout my life and now I have the pleasure of taking my family on similar magical camping trips in the Catskills and Adirondacks here in New York State. I am also obsessed with fly fishing and try to get out on the river whenever I have the chance, no matter the weather. My plan is to chronicle my outdoor adventures and share them with my family, friends and whomever else is interested. I’m also going to try to fit in reviews of the different parks, rivers, campgrounds and trails I visit. I’m hoping this will provide useful information for those who wish to visit these areas.

Personally, I am a social worker, married with two children living in northern Westchester County, just outside New York City. I love living in this area as it provides me with access to so many different environments. New York has the city (of course), the beaches on Long Island, the mountains of the Catskills and Adirondacks, as well as the western part of the state with Niagara Falls and the Finger Lake regions. The tri-state area is full of adventures waiting to happen. Please join me as I experience all this area has to offer, and beyond.
